Greatstone village is on the east Kent coast between Folkestone and Rye, about one mile from the cinque port of New Romney on the Romney Marsh.

The village lies between farm land and a nature reserve to the west and the English Channel to the east. It has a fine sandy beach popular with bathers and wind surfers alike.

The Jolly Fisherman pub is the 'local' for people who live and work in Greatstone. At the Jolly Fisherman you will find a warm welcome from your hosts Steve, Shirley and Lee where you can enjoy your drink and food in congenial company and surroundings.

The pub is open every day and serves food every day except Tuesday, with roasts on Sunday.
The Jolly Fisherman _____________________ Greatstone is the home to Sound Mirrors, are large concrete structures built in the 1920s and 1930s to detect enemy aircraft.
They are located to the west of Greatstone on the nature reserve.
Sound Mirrors _____________________ New to Greatstone is the Greatstone Shingle Trail, set up in December 2008 by the Dungeness Nature Reserve, the walk takes you over the Nature Reserve and on the beach.

Recent Posts _____________________ Greatstone is well known for its fine sandy beach, which stretches for some two miles. The beach, being quite flat at many states of the tide, attracts a wide range of beach activities, including beach ball sports, kite flying kite boarding, kite buggying etc.

Greatstone Beach _____________________ The Lifeboat Station in
Greatstone was established in 1966, with the present purpose built brick
boathouse being built in 1977. The station is served by an inshore Atlantic 85 lifeboat,
Fred Clarke, with a crew of three.
