Aerial View of Greatstone 1953, looking west [ack 9.]
You can just see the Sound Mirrors near to the left of the photo; Greatstone Lakes had not yet been created. The holiday park, then known as Maddieson's Holiday Camp, is in the centre, and you can just make out Dunes Road on the right with the Jolly Fisherman pub at its junction with the road running along by the sea. [This photo was taken by Sgt Horace Edward Blackwell, AG, 49 (Bomber) Sqn RAF, on the afternoon of 10 June 1953, as part of an aerial weather recce for the Canberra flypast for the newly crowned Queen Elizabeth's birthday]
